  • Overview

    IDG is searching for a Technical Product Manager to join the team in New York, New York.  The Technical Product Manager will drive the development of IDG TechNetwork's analytics and reporting platform. 


    You will leverage your background in online adtech and your passion for creating insightful analytics tools to deliver a world-class platform for IDG and its publisher partners that illuminates the performance and market opportunities across the Global IDG TechNetwork.  This role will work closely with internal publisher relationship executives, ad operations and engineering to craft and execute a vision that quantifies this critical part of IDG’s business.


    The ideal candidate enjoys being a hands-on participant in development processes and being an expert user of the systems they manage.  They thrive on interesting, complicated challenges and can envision solutions to tame and analyze large, diverse data sets.  Finally, they are deft at building consensus and guiding activity that merges tactical objectives into a long-term strategic roadmap.


    • Manage the success of the platform via insightful product design, tight feature specification and flawless feature rollouts.
    • Own and maintain the product roadmap — in consultation with product stakeholders.
    • Develop project plans for large scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives while keeping an eye on day to day operational quality.
    • Understand functional roles of IDG’s adtech stack (ad servers, DMP, programmatic partnerships) in relationship to the platform.
    • Engage with engineers to understand technical architecture and translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.
    • Create user stories, prioritize the backlog and partner with product managers and engineering in Agile planning (Scrum and Kanban).
    • Provide support to internal users and proactively monitor the platform to ensure accuracy; escalate emergent issues


    The ideal candidate for this Technical Product Manager role will have:


    • 3+ years Technical Product Management experience within the adtech and/or media industry.
    • Demonstrated expertise with enterprise-class ad serving technology. Experience with DoubleClick for Publishers preferred.
    • Experience with custom analytics platforms and / or financial reporting systems.
    • Demonstrated success in building and launching product.
    • Experience working with other cross-functional teams including business, UX and engineering
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills - and active listener and problem solver
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience of Jira, Confluence, DMP, DoubleClick a bonus but not required
