    IDG’s US Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of their global, cloud-based, data-driven products.

    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work directly with business stakeholders in an agile development environment to create new functionality and maintain/troubleshoot existing functionality affecting the company’s data platform.  You will develop and apply advanced state-of-the-art engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the solution of complex problems affecting our data strategy and business challenges.


    Upon joining IDG as a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader within our team.  You will partner with product management and engineers in the early stages of multiple projects to refine product definitions and create roadmaps.  Additionally, you will be tasked with coordinating technical design activities across the development team to deliver highly-available and highly scalable solutions.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of advanced CS fundamentals, classic algorithms, data structures, and designing for performance and scalability
    • At least five (5) years of experience in software or web application development in Java
    • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
    • Prior working experience and/or familiarity with:
      • Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring REST, Spring Data, Spring Integration)
      • Maven
      • Creating API-based solutions (REST, JSON)
      • Development in the cloud (AWS, Google)
      • Microservice architectures
      • Relational and nosql databases, data modeling, and SQL/JDBC
      • Version control, preferably git, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts
      • Unit testing, test coverage, and other testing best practices
    • Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ, Data Science, Machine Learning, Personalization Algoritms, and Web Technologies (Apache, AJAX, HTML, JavaScript, Node.js, JQuery, HTTPS, XML) are a plus!

    This position is based in our Framingham, MA office, however there is an opportunity to work-from-home on a part-time basis.
