    GPS is a dedicated team that is focused on supporting partner marketing and sales organizations with promoting their services and technologies to drive demand and build market share.  GPS represents the entire global portfolio of IDG brands, audience, events and services to provide our clients with a variety of turn-key and customized marketing solutions. The Account Director, GPS will play an integral role within the group to grow existing accounts and drive in new business opportunities. 

    This is an ideal position for someone that thrives in a collaborative work environment and likes to take a consultative approach with clients to develop successful marketing programs.


    The Account Director will be charged with selling integrated marketing solutions to clients that are focused on the partner/channel/alliance marketing segment. 


    The Account Director role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Meeting/exceeding sales objectives for assigned accounts
    • Strong understanding of B2B marketing
    • Conducting consultative meetings at tech companies and agencies
    • The ability to convert proposed sales into closed business.
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with exceptional customer service and time management skills.
    • Creating powerful sales stories and presentations
    • Developing a deep understanding of each client’s needs and the ability to sell integrated marketing solutions to assist with those objectives.
    • Ability to understand complex business marketing issues and how to leverage the IDG portfolio to achieve the client's objectives.
    • Collaborating with IDG’s sales counterparts in the region and the internal account services teams to ensure IDG’s clients receive a world-class experience
    • Ability to drive marketing strategy discussions with internal and external clients.
    • Experience with selling global marketing programs is a plus


    • 5+ years of face to face integrated media/marketing sales to clients and agencies
    • Strong presentation, writing, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
    • A proven track record of exceeding annual quotas
    • Detailed understanding of trends in B2B Marketing 
    • The ability to create sales solutions and validate results
    • Thrives in a fast paced and ever-changing sales environment
    • Team player
    • Ability to travel domestically 30% of the month
