International Data Group (IDG) has an opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the IDG Corporate Tax Team in our Framingham, MA office.  Reporting to the Director of Corporate Tax, and working closely with the tax group, this position will assist in the coordination of IDG's federal and state tax compliance and planning efforts.  This role includes overseeing the preparation of consolidated federal and multi-state income tax returns, information reporting on foreign entities, foreign tax credit and unitary state filings.  The Tax Manager will also be responsible for year-end tax and interim provisions, coordination of IRS and state/local audits, ongoing planning and research and business unit consultation. 


  • Manage the Company’s tax compliance process, including review of annual federal, state and local income tax returns, extensions/quarterly estimated tax payments and sales and use tax returns
  • Coordinate and review the interim and annual income tax provision and tax related balance sheet accounts including preparation of tax footnote and review by external financial auditors
  • Manage the US federal, state and local income tax audits
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports and analysis, including tax account reconciliations, tax impact in business transactions and tax information reporting requirements
  • Work with senior management and third-party service providers
  • Assist with tax research, planning and special projects
  • Co-manage and oversee a team of two


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience, including 1+ year supervisory experience
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of systems associated with tax compliance (ex. Gosystems, Microsoft Great Plains)
  • Strong multitasking skills and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
  • Ability to manage, mentor and motivate tax team members
  • Compliance experience with corporate, consolidated federal and unitary/combined state income tax returns
  • Experience preparing tax provisions for financial statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
