The Account Development Associate role will be instrumental in helping us grow our client base and will liaise with our inside sales reps on a daily basis.  In this role, you will be responsible for researching new clients, uncovering qualified leads, and getting them in front of our team of inside sales reps to go after and close.  To succeed in this role, you must be a competitive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. 

Responsibilities

  • The Account Development Associate will be responsible for digging into companies from all sources (such as Media websites, Trade Show lists, etc.) to uncover qualified new business contacts that can lead to new opportunities for IDG
  • Passing qualified new business marketing contacts to the appropriate inside sales reps so they can win that business for IDG and update them on the conversation history
  • Support/Team duties for the inside sales team – including but not limited to:  helping with proposals (using PowerPoint), competitive takeovers, CRM updates (Salesforce.com), generating reports, etc.
  • The Account Development Associate will also have the opportunity to learn IDG’s product portfolio, become familiar with the company, and shadow inside sales reps on calls – this role is a perfect steppingstone into your sales career with IDG!

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of business experience, preferably in the media industry and/or strong marketing internship(s)
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in sales
  • A competitive, team oriented mindset – we win as one!
  • Ability to build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
  • High-energy, resourceful, creative, and coachable
  • Self-starter who can work independently while also knowing when and how to successfully collaborate with peers
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and top-notch time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products & prior experience using CRMs is a big plus
