Overview

International Data Group, Inc. (IDG) has an opportunity for a Tax Manager to join its growing tax team in our Needham, MA office.  Reporting to the Director of Tax, and working closely with the tax group, this position will assist in the coordination of IDG's federal and state tax compliance and planning efforts.  Includes overseeing the preparation of the consolidated U.S. federal income tax return and multi-state income tax returns.  The Tax Senior / Manager will also be responsible for the year-end tax provision and ongoing planning and research consultation. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Company’s income tax compliance obligations including quantitative support, qualitative analysis, and preparation and review of the U.S. income tax returns.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. tax law to ensure income tax implications are considered.
  • Monitor changes in domestic footprint and impact on state and local apportionment and reporting obligations.
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports and analysis, including tax account reconciliations, tax impact in business transactions and tax information reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the transformation of the income tax function to grow for growth, which includes tax technology adoption, process simplification and standardization, and the use of data and technology.
  • Assist with tax research, planning and special projects as needed.
  • Manage and oversee a team of two.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA and/or Masters of Tax preferred.
  • 1-2 years of progressive corporate income tax experience in public accounting and/or industry, including 1-2 years of reviewing experience.
  • Must have excellent research skills and experiences using Checkpoint or other research software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced excel skills (Power Query and PowerPivot a plus).
  • Knowledge of systems associated with tax compliance (ex. Corptax, Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream) a plus.
  • Strong multitasking skills and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Ability to manage, mentor and motivate tax team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
