IDG Communications, publisher of Tech Advisor, Macworld, PCWorld and TechHive, is excited to be recruiting for a Staff Writer (Mobile Technology) to join its expanding English language team, based in the UK or US East Coast.
The main focus for this role is to produce high-quality written, video and audio content, with the aim of driving reader engagement. It will require covering the latest smartphones, tablets, wearables and mobile accessories, and advising consumers at all stages of their journey, from the initial product launch through aftersales support.
The ideal candidate has excellent writing skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for mobile technology, with some knowledge of the current market essential. We are looking for an enthusiastic communicator and a team player who excels in a fast-paced web environment - someone who can come up with ideas using analytics and social media trends, write great unique and engaging stories, and produce and refresh written, video and audio content.
We will teach you to write expert news analysis and opinion, authoritative reviews, group tests and buying advice, and useful tutorials, tips and tricks. Video experience is preferential, but not essential. A basic understanding of SEO and affiliate is required, but training will be given.
The Staff Writer (Mobile Technology) will report to the Tech Advisor Editor who is based in London, but will be part of IDG’s global consumer editorial team, spanning the UK, US, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Spain, France and Poland.
