Overview

IDG, Inc. is seeking an International Tax Manager with a preferred location in the UK to join our Corporate team.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that non-US business units are tax compliant in all respects across local markets. Also, to ensure all tax filings (CIT, VAT/GST, WHT and Employment) are filed on time, and are accurate. This position will have 2 regional tax associates reporting direcly to them.

Responsibilities

Tax compliance

  • Coordinating with team members and external advisors to ensure that non-US business units are tax compliant in all respects across local markets and all tax filings (CIT, VAT/GST, WHT and Employment) are filed on time, and are accurate
  • Managing tax associates in guaranteeing adequate documentation and record keeping at the local, regional and ICO level
  • Overseeing global adherence to the transfer pricing policies
  • Developing and maintaining the tax governance and disclosure requirements for non-US entities – including any transparency initiatives and DAC 6 requirements
  • Coordinating non-US tax audits and establishing a risk portfolio

Tax reporting and monthly forecasting

  • Oversee the process for the preparation and review of tax packages relating to non-US entities in accordance with data requirements under US international reporting frameworks
  • Oversee the process to ensure accurate and timely completion of non-US entities tax provisions and return to provision true-ups under US GAAP (Corptax/Dynamics - experience preferable)
  • Oversight of monthly forecast process for direct and VAT/GST tax positions of all foreign entities – with support from local business units
  • Oversight of the tax review and reporting for local statutory financial statements – with support from local providers
  • Oversight into the consolidation of monthly tax update package - reviewing tax associate’s commentary and overview of foreign tax positions (across all taxes) for reporting to Global Tax Director

Coordination and Relationship Management

  • Proactively build and maintain value add relationships with regional leaders, International Controller’s Office and corporate leadership team
  • Monitoring relevant tax law and policy changes for material jurisdictions and ensuring proactive compliance for foreign entities

Projects / Tax advice

  • Develop an understanding of IDG’s business model and identify tax planning opportunities for the global organization
  • Coordinate with the regional teams to identify tax incentives and other cash tax saving opportunities

Qualifications

The critical Experience Requirements are defined as follows:

  • Big 4 / Top 10/20
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant/Chartered Tax Advisor
  • Excellent direct and indirect tax compliance experience
  • Excellent tax reporting background (US GAAP/IFRS)
  • Strong understanding of BEPS and compliance (DAC6) requirements
  • Ability to implement, monitor, document and track global transfer pricing compliance
  • Strong direct and indirect tax audit experience

Other requirements include

  • Ability to manage and develop tax associates across various tax disciplines
  • Proactively work to identify and resolve risk issues without prompting
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with c-suite management
  • Ability to travel to portfolio entity locations as required
