Overview

IDG is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our IT G&A team. As part of IDG’s transformation effort, you will work on a globally dispersed cross-functional team designing, developing, and implementing key financial reporting systems.  You will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your internal and external team to execute.  The ideal IT Business Analyst has strong writing and communication skills and can build relationships with both their team members and client stakeholders.  Working closely with Finance and IT G&A team members, the IT Business Analyst will perform various critical tasks to support the design, development, and delivery of financial reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to document requirements and then deliver the specifications to technical teams.
  • Preparing and analyzing comprehensive reports and dashboards within financial reporting systems or other data visualization tools using data from disparate systems.
  • Identifying gaps in financial reporting capabilities by understanding business goals and analyzing them against the current state abilities.
  • Communicating regularly with all stakeholders to ensure all project team members are aligned towards the same goal and have a consistent understanding of the status.
  • Providing level one support to end users of financial reporting systems and other data analytics tools.
  • Development and execution of independent verification and validation test scripts and plans.  
  • Assisting with strengthening end user relationships.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, computer science, business, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of business analyst experience. 
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Proven experience analyzing systems, extracting data, and creating data analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
  • Possessing knowledge, some experience, and capabilities in the development of solutions, recommendations or outcomes is a plus. 
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, research and resolve issues, and demonstrated commitment to continuous learning. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects. 
  • Experience with software development using both traditional and agile methodologies. 
  • Background with relational databases and/or data warehouses. 
  • Knowledge data architecture and system design principles.
  • Knowledge and/or some experience with SQL. 
  • Expert level skills with Excel and familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience with EPM and ERP systems a plus (extra points for prior OneStream experience).
  • This role is based on our Needham MA location with a hybrid work schedule to come into the office 1-2 days per week. ( We will also consider qualified candidates 100% remote in an approved US East Coast location)

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The anticipated total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $80,000 and $100,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
