Overview

IDG is seeking an experienced  Director, Internal Communications, to join our global team.  Reporting to the Vice President, Internal Communications you will be responsible for supporting, collaborating, and executing on  comprehensive internal communications strategies that are designed to foster engagement, alignment, and a positive organizational culture across IDG’s diverse global employee base.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and support the global IDG internal communications strategy to foster a culture of engagement across IDG's multiple regions and distributed workforces.
  • Develop and execute e-communication plans for new initiatives, policies, and programs.
  • Communicate change management initiatives  
  • Establish and implement sound processes, policies, procedures, and standards for an effective Internal Communications program.
  • Oversee editorial and strategy for IDG’s global intranet
  • Produce relevant and compelling content for various internal communications channels, including employee events, emails, newsletters, and IDG's intranet
  • Responsible for evaluating emerging communications tools in the industry to ensure internal communications are relevant to connect with IDG employees
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, transparent, and reinforces the company’s values
  • Provide IDG Leadership Team with internal communications expertise, ensuring corporate messaging is aligned and disseminated throughout the organization
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborators
  • Implement mechanisms for gathering employee feedback on communication effectiveness
  • Use data and analytics to assess the impact of internal communication initiatives and make data-driven improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred; in English, Communications, Writing or relevant field
  • A minimum of 8-10 years experience leading communications functions for global, largely distributed organizations
  • Proven track record in a senior communications role, ideally in the technology industry.
  • A passion for writing and ability to craft messages using the voice of your executive stakeholders
  • Creative thinking, strong experience communicating and creating communication programs that leverage written, audio, and visual mediums and channels
  • Strong organizational skills; skilled at determining and managing requests and timelines necessary to get work done.
  •  Ablility to synthesize multiple, complex business situations and ideas
  • Proven experience in developing a strategic communications approach that resonates with stakeholders and is easily understood by employees of all levels
  • Experience working in a global context, understanding cultural nuances in communication.
  • This position will located in a remote approved NYC Metroplitan location with the availability to go into the NYC office.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $150,000 and $180,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
