Overview

IDG is searching for a Global Revenue Accounting Director to join our finance team. The Global Revenue Accounting Director plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition processes, which are essential for financial reporting and decision-making within the organization. The role requires an experienced Global Revenue Accounting Director to have a strong background in revenue accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP ASC606 and group accounting policies.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
  • Lead global revenue team’s monthly and quarterly Revenue close, ensuring the timely delivery of revenue figures with accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead global revenue team to synchronize and streamline revenue procedures and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Mentor and coach the team of revenue accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and FP&A, to review and analyze revenue contracts.
  • Provide guidance and expertise on complex revenue transactions under US GAAP ASC606, including multiple-element arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to revenue processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and explanations related to revenue transactions and accounting treatment.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations related to revenue accounting, and assess their impact on the company.
  • Participate in the new ERP project and a play a key role in revenue and related modules and functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting including 6+ years in revenue accounting, with a focus on technology or SaaS industries preferred. Experience with a reputable global accounting firm is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role including managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards under US GAAP ASC606.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to lead and drive projects and initiatives, to make changes happen.
  • Experience with ERP systems and revenue recognition software preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • This role will be based in our Needham MA office with a hybrid schedule to work 2 days per week in the office.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $165,000 and $200,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
