Overview

IDG is searching for an experienced Payroll Manager to join the IDG Total Rewards team to oversee and manage all aspects of our US payroll operations. The Payroll Manager  will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. The Payroll Manager will lead a team with a commitment to security and data privacy, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in all payroll processes; fostering a collaborative and positive work environment within the payroll department.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Utilize UKG payroll software and systems to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Work closely with the Benefits team to ensure pay-related changes are processed timely and accurately.
  • Manage Banking and Payment integrations. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Engage as Employer Tax liaison with on all required payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Manage and reconcile payroll-related accounts, including taxes, benefits, and deductions.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS department to implement improvements and updates to payroll systems.
  • Maintain data integrity and security within the payroll system.
  • Generate standard payroll and ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Performs other project tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of proven payroll manager experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in using UKG payroll software and systems, including Report Writing and Microsoft Software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • This is located in our Needham, MA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $116,000 and $135,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
