Overview

The Senior Finance Manager for Sales is responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic support to the sales organization. This role involves analyzing sales performance, managing bookings and revenue forecasting, and ensuring that financial objectives align with the overall business goals. The successful candidate will act as a key business partner to the sales leadership team, driving financial insights that contribute to the success of the sales function.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales leaders to drive topline growth and achieve financial goals. Assist in the development of sales strategies and performance metrics to drive revenue growth.
  • Lead strategic and tactical support on the annual budgeting and long-range financial modeling
  • Develop models to forecast sales performance and revenue generation.
  • Manage monthly executive reporting and presentation, support business reviews
  • Evaluate sales performance against targets, identify trends, and highlight areas of concern or opportunity. Provide actionable insights to sales leaders to improve performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including sales performance, pipeline analysis, and variance analysis, to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sales leaders, marketing teams, and other key stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor, providing financial expertise to support decision-making.
  • Manage entire operating expense budget for IDG CRO and CMO organizations, perform financial controllership tasks and advise on spend investment
  • Lead financial aspects of sales-related projects, collaborate closely with Revenue Operations, Revenue Accounting and Corporate FP&A.
  • Identify financial risks related to sales operations and work with relevant teams to mitigate these risks. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to achieve better results. Follow standards and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (finance, business, accounting or engineering); MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience in finance business partnering and financial planning and analysis supporting sales function.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with a deep understanding of sales and marketing dynamics.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling, data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to interact with Senior Executives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deal well with uncertainty and influence decision-making.

At IDG we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. We pay our employees equitably for their work, commensurate with their individual skills and experience. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $188,000 and $210,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable). Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner.
