Overview

IDG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced UX Research Lead to lead the development and management of our digital products. The role will report to the Vice President of User Experience and Design.

 

We seek a strong UX Research Lead, a proficient individual contributor, and passionate about designing human-centered products to guide the discovery, exploration, build, and evaluation of IDC's digital experiences.

This position can be  be 100%  remote in an approved US East Coast location .

Responsibilities

 

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on research methodologies and best practices 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive UX research strategy aligned with product goals
  • Identify key research questions and methodologies to address specific product challenges
  • Prioritize research efforts based on business impact and user needs
  • Conduct a variety of user research methods, including:
    • User interviews
    • Usability testing
    • Surveys
    • A/B testing
    • Ethnographic research
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to uncover actionable insights
  • Present research findings to cross-functional teams in a clear and compelling manner
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure research insights are integrated into the product development process
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to align teams on user needs and product goals
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure they are embedded in the organization's culture
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UX research trends and methodologies
  • Experiment with new research techniques to gain deeper insights
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human factors, computer science, or associated disciplines are desired. We will consider equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 10+ years in user research, with 3+ years at a senior level
  • Proven track record in leading and mentoring research teams, strong understanding of various user research methodologies and tools, experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, ability to lead and improve research practice across the organization
  • Familiarity with industry-standard UX research tools (e.g., Figma, Maze), experience with web, creating and testing information architectures and micro-copy, experience with wireframing and interactive prototyping tools
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ability to advocate for complex technical research and findings
  •  Experience embedding research in agile teams, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, strong consultative skills, and ability to build consensus
  •  Passion for user-centered design and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences
  • Quantitative research skills are a plus
  • A portfolio showcasing successful UX research projects and insights is required

We pay our employees equitably for their work, commensurate with their individual skills and experience.Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner.

The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $185,000 and $200,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
